|Biological Significance||Betaine-homocysteine methyltransferase (BHMT) is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. BHMT displays differential expression in a model of liver cirrhosis. Recombinant human BHMT, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.|
