Nephrin antibody was raised in guinea pig using a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 1243-1256 of the intracellular domain of nephrin as the immunogen.
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.

Biological Significance
Nephrin is a protein necessary for the proper functioning of the renal filtration barrier. The renal filtration barrier consists of fenestrated endothelial cells, the glomerular basement membrane, and the podocytes of epithelial cells. Nephrin is a transmembrane protein involved with the slit diaphragm.
